Blue Dove > Things To Do > Hiking
We built our home in the Shenandoah Valley for the mountains: to gaze at them, to wake up to them and to hike them. There are dozens of places to hike nearby. Here are a few of our favorites, ones that we return to time and again. Click on any map icon to find (A) the hike on a map and (B) directions to the trail head.
This hike has two parts: a 60-minute, moderate climb up to the saddle between Big House and Little House mountain, followed by a 20-minute, steep climb up to the Big House Mountain overlook. Although the final 20 minutes are difficult, it is well worth the panoramic vista to the south and west.
