"It's got a yummy back"

Alison's latest quilted creation is titled Animalia, an homage to the animal kingdom and a birthday gift for our young neighbor here in Lexington. In Alison's words, this quilt has a "yummy back," made from a variety of flannel prints.

On a completely unrelated note, Eli turned 21 two days ago. Last night, we took him out to dinner along with three of his roommates and his cousin Ally, who lovingly endured a 22-hour bus ride from northern Indiana to celebrate the day with him. Although we were dining at the Blue Mountain Brewery in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Eli chose not to join his cousin and sample the local brew. The night before was brew enough, apparently.
