Ramparts of Quebec City

The Ramparts

The Ramparts of Quebec City are the only fortified city walls in North America (if we assume for the moment that Mexico, which has numerous walls of its own, is in Central America) and have been designated as a National Historic Site of Canada. The French built the walls and then the English rebuilt the walls after inflicting a good deal of damage to them during their assault on Quebec in 1759.

After dinner last night, Alison and I "walked the wall," or more accurately, "walked a small portion of it closest to our flat."
