The Immigs Descend

Arrival

Aunt Eileen's relatives have been arriving throughout the day. Her brother Bob from Colorado, her son Danny from Idaho Falls (her daughter Debbie lives here), all of her grandchildren from neighboring states and a collection of nieces and nephews (like us) from around the country.

The day's events began at 6pm with a short rosary service at the local funeral home. The officiant was an older priest who ended the service with a simple but beautiful Latin chant sung in a clear tenor voice. A wake followed the service, as a very long line of friends and co-workers wound its way past Aunt Eileen and the family. Since Alison and I had already spent the day with the local family, we sat in the adjacent room and caught up with Uncle Bob, Cousin Rob and Cousin Robin once they arrived.
